Wilfredo's journey has been truly inspiring. Before the CTC training, he was a dedicated pastor, but his understanding of the church's role in the community was primarily focused on traditional outreach programs. The training was a pivotal moment for him.
It challenged his perspective, opening his eyes to a more holistic understanding of the Gospel and its implications for community engagement.
Wilfredo began to see the church as an integral part of the city's fabric, called to collaborate with all stakeholders, regardless of their faith background, to create a thriving community – a concept often referred to as "shalom." He realized that the church's visibility and action were essential for building trust and making a tangible impact.
Inspired by this new vision, Wilfredo felt a strong calling to start a church that embodied these principles. It wasn’t easy. There were those who disagreed with his approach and chose to leave. But Wilfredo remained steadfast in his belief that this was the path God was calling him on.
Today, his church is thriving. It's a vibrant community deeply rooted in its neighborhood, actively involved in addressing local challenges, and building bridges with people from all walks of life. It's a testament to the power of the Gospel when lived out in radical obedience.
